- Priority - High
- Affecting Server - web05
We will be upgrading the current core MySQL version of the server to MariaDB.
Prior to the upgrade you will need to ensure that all of your database user's passwords are using the current SQL encryption version. If your website has existed for more than a couple of years without the password being changed it is likely using the old encryption method and needs to be reset to update to the newest version. To do this login to your cPanel account, go to MySQL and reset the password to either a new unique password, or to what it is now. You will need to ensure your database password within your software (e.g wp-config.php) correctly references the new password for the service to continue without error.
While the upgrade is a relatively seamless change for most clients, if you do experience any issues with your website following the upgrade please email firstname.lastname@example.org and our team will be happy to investigate.
