How do I generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR)?

You can create a CSR through the "SSL/TLS" module in cPanel. This area will allow you to generate: SSL certificates, signing requests, and keys. These are all critical parts of using SSL to secure your website.

Certificate Signing Requests (CSR)

1. Log into www.yourdomainmame.com.au/cpanel and click on SSL/TLS under Security
2. Click on Generate, view, or delete SSL certificate signing requests
3. When the page loads, set the following:

Domain - Enter the domain name you want to install the SSL on. To use wildcard domains (i.e. use the SSL for subdomains), add an asterisk to the domain name in the form:*.sample.com.

City - Enter your city i.e. Perth

State - Enter your state i.e. Western Australia

Country - Select your two-digit country code.

Company - Enter your company name.

Email - enter an authority email address i.e. admin@yourdomain.com or webmaster@yourdomain.com

There is no need to enter data in the other fields.

4. Click on Generate.
5. Once the page has loaded, please copy the content that is in the Encoded CSR field (including -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST----- and -----END CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----). This value will need to be entered in the "Certificate Signing Request" field of the SSL certificate order form.
